Ron Atkins OAM Award to Lilly Meldrum

Leanne Atkins, wife of the late Ron Atkins, presented Lilly with a cheque for $500 which Lilly said would assist her in going to Russia to play in the 2019 World U/16 Snooker Championships.

Lilly is one of many junior enthusiasts who is striving to become a world champion following in Neil Robertson's footsteps.

At eleven years of age she had never heard of Ron Atkins but she has promised to travel to Tasmania next year to play in the Ron Atkins OAM Snooker Championship, and in particular, to meet Leanne Atkins to personally thank her for this prestigious award.

Good luck Lilly in Russia and let's all hope she fulfils her dreams.
